dental work is fun for everyone

I get to go have some holes in my head filled today. That should be fun. At least maybe tonight I'll be able to chew on the right side of my mouth for the first time in months.

I slept for about 4 hours. I got all used to staying up late and sleeping in over the 4-day weekend and then last night I couldn't sleep. So I played SSX Tricky until 2:30. Good stuff.

Our A/C sucks. During the heat of the day we can't get the house below about 78 or 80 degrees. Even when the A/C is turned down to like 65. I'm concerned for our electric bill. But, it's not technically broken, I don't believe. The air coming out of the vents is still cold. I just think it's not quite big or efficient enough for our house. The basement is comfortable, of course, but with Tandra's dad staying with us and sleeping down there (he works 2 jobs and odd hours) you never know when he'll be conked out down there. I want to call our property owners but I don't know if they'll feel much like springing for a new AC unit if it's not technically broken. On the other hand, it is their responsibility to maintain those sorts of things to the extent that we can be comfortable. I guess I'll call. Can't hurt.

I had a meeting at 8AM sharp this morning. I was here at a quarter till. That's almost certainly the earliest I've ever gotten here in the morning. I don't like first thing in the morning meetings.

Tandra has a pretty nasty UTI. I hope she feels better. I also hope that she doesn't mind the maintenance people coming to the house while she's all sick on the sofa.

till

It's 'til, isn't it? I just now thought that through. 'til is an abbreviation of the word until, which means it has an apostrophe and one l. Till is what you do to dirt. So it's not "a quarter till", it's "a quarter 'til". I wonder how long I've been typing that and making peoples ignorant alerts go off.

Or, not. Merriam Webster has the word "till" as an abbreviation for "until". Oh, who the hell knows.

woo-HOO!

I just got the go-ahead to be able to go to school this fall!

Who ever thought I'd be excited to go to school? :-)
