Last night I was watching the war coverage. The sound of the air raid siren in Baghdad was really eerie. It almost kind of made me feel bad. Like, how much would it suck to wake up to that? I kind of felt for the innocent civilians of Baghdad.

Then a thought occurred to me. One of the first things that our military did was to take over the Iraqi radio broadcasts and start broadcasting our own propaganda. I was thinking, why couldn't we take over the loudspeakers that broadcast the air raid sirens? Surely there's a more gentle way to wake up the innocent people of Baghdad than that scary siren. I was thinking something easier, maybe some folk music. How about some Cat Stevens? That would be nice, to wake up to his guitar gently strumming...

strum strum strum
"Morning has bro - ken"
"Like the first morn - ing"
"Blackbird has spo - ken"
"Like the first bird"

How nice. Or maybe some Simon and Garfunkel:

"When you're weary, feeling small"
"When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all"
"I'm on your side, when times get rough"
"And friends just can't be found, like a bridge over troubled water"
"I will lay me down"

Beautiful. Now that's good music to wake up to.

Maybe it would have been an even better idea for Saddam to have taken it over before things even started. When the deadline hit last night, he could have fired up some John Denver:

"So kiss me and smile for me,
Tell me that you wait for me,
Hold me, like you never let me go.
Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane,
Don't know when I'll be back again,
Oh Babe I hate to go."

So, over forty nations now support the American war in Iraq. It's a "coalition" now, larger than the one in 1991. I have two things to say about that.
  1. What a bunch of bitches. What a bunch of pussy ass bitches. They're all scared to back us in the U.N. and shit, but now that the shit is going down and we're all bad-ass, they want to jump on the bandwagon.

  2. You know this is just making those who were opposed to the war look stupid. Suddenly France is vastly in the minority. Serves them right. Snooty good-for-nothing-except-chefs bastards.
And yes, I'm a hypocrite, because I'm a newcomer on the "France Sucks" bandwagon. I've never respected them due to their 48-hour collapse in WWII, but I have a newfound disdain.

And although I don't agree with the sentiment, I find this funny so I must steal this from umokay:
