Wichita was on the Weather Channel this morning for all the street flooding we had last night. It rained all day long, then last night we had a torrential downpour that lasted a good 2 hours, so the flooding was pretty bad. I didn't have any trouble though and my basement is bone dry. Bonus. On TV last night though they showed a car whose rear end was bouncing in the water like it was about to float away, and there was some lady in it. The downtown streets looked like rivers. Pretty interesting. Personally I just had fun driving fast through the places where water was in the gutters and crossing the streets, watching the water shoot up from my car. Good times.

So today where I work we're having a sort of Open House type of deal. I think mostly it's just a PR/media deal, and an excuse for us to show off our new vision clinic. Out in the front drive there's a van from the local country music station (what am I saying, "The" station, like there's only one, when really there are like five). There's a DJ type person out there interviewing one of our PR guys. They've got the little mini-radio tower thing erected, and big huge speakers pointed out away from the building towards the street, all set up so that everyone can hear the broadcast and stuff.

Trouble is, aside from a couple other radio station geeks, they are the only two people out there. NO ONE else is there for the open house, NO ONE else from our company is out there... funny stuff.
