I'm not a huge fan of the car overall, but check out the new Vauxhall Astra's windshield:

"The Panoramic windscreen is made of heat-absorbing glass (a good thing) and wraps up and over the two front seats, creating an airy, open cabin feeling that can't be matched by a mere sunroof. For days when it gets extra-hot, a power shade can be pulled forward to shield the front passengers from the sun's rays."

Vauxhall and GM are buddies. This would be neat to see this side of the pond.

so, I guess I'm in a car mood.

OMG. Peugeot 907 concept. 6.0L V12, carbon fiber body shell, and check it - that cool over the roof windshield thing.

This thing makes 500hp and weighs just over 3000 lbs - that's about 6.1 pounds per horsepower. That means that the weight this engine has to carry around slows it down about as much as a horse carrying six pounds of cargo.

To give that some perspective, a base model 2006 Corvette has one horsepower to carry around every 8 pounds of weight, and each of my Miata's horsepowers lug around about 14 pounds.
