For those of you who don't know, my friends and I have been going to Old Chicago every Wednesday night for about three or four years. Old Chicago is a sports bar/pizza & pasta restaurant type of place that prides itself on having 110 different kinds of beer. They have what's called a World Beer Tour, wherein one drinks many unique beers and gets little bits of swag for doing so. We all participated.

Last night was the first time I'd gone there since making my decision not to drink. It was harder than I thought it would be. I kept seeing signs for new kinds of beers, specials on beers I like, etc. But I did it. I ordered sprite and stuck with it. It would probably be a lot easier if I just took myself out of the environment in which I'm accustomed to drinking, but I'm strong enough to resist even when I'm there.

It was hard, and it will be hard next week, and it will always be hard, but every time I do it it will get a little bit easier and every time I do it I'll build a little more confidence in myself that I can stick to it. I'm pleased.
