Siren and Songbird

If you've ever had Chai tea then you know what I'm talking about. It's like liquid pumpkin pie sliding down your throat. The texture is perfectly flawless, like churning buttermilk: thick and substantial, but smooth and compliant. The aroma fills up your nostrils and you close your eyes and inhale the scent deeply, anticipating the taste. You finally take a drink and it warms you from the inside out and there's nothing in the world quite like that feeling.

If you've ever slept on a bed with satin sheets then you know what I'm talking about. They are so silky smooth that you could actually slide right off if you're not careful. All by themselves they are perfectly innocent and innocuous, but there is something about them, something that keeps its mouth shut but hints at a feeling, a sensation that grabs hold of something instinctive deep inside you, something almost erotic but not quite.

If you've ever been close to the bottom of a huge waterfall then you know what I'm talking about. It's awesome and inspiring to be so close to one of nature's wonders, terrifying to consider the unstoppable force and tremendous power behind that mighty sound but still one of the most beautiful things in the world to witness firsthand, and no recording or facsimile can do it justice.

If you've ever watched a spider spin her web then you know what I'm talking about. Another beautiful and considerable natural phenomenon that something so small can produce something that is so strong, delicate and beautiful all at the same time. And she works so hard to get it just right, but it is her instinct, her nature to do so, and she makes it look effortless. And she spins this web using nothing but what's inside her, almost as though she were conjuring this creation out of the mist in the air. And when she is finished she sits right in the center, proud of her creation and daring any creature to disturb it.

This is what it's like to hear Tandra sing.
