The power went out at work.
Too much ice on the power lines. That's a good thing! They sent us home. The school district has cancelled classes for tomorrow, which means Tandra and I are both off work. That's a GREAT thing!
On the way home the streets weren't icy yet, but it was already obvious that things were getting nasty.
I turned into my neighborhood and saw this thing crash to the street in front of me.
Had I been two seconds ahead of where I was, that would have landed on my car.
So I pulled my car into the garage and took Tandra's out to shoot some photos of the ice. Mostly I shot with the Pentax, so I don't have those yet, but I took a couple with the digital.
I went to Riverside park. I stood outside the car and from all around me I heard the loud CRRRRRAACK of tree branches bending and breaking. Saw a couple fall.
This was cool - this flag froze while it was being blown by the wind and just stuck like that.
This is all so much fun! (As long as the power stays on here at home!)
