So last night I started school. Speech I. Our teacher/professor/whatever you call someone who teaches class at a Community College type person.... well, so far I don't like her. She's completely full of herself. She dresses professionally, has had a professional career to back herself up, but she has no class whatsoever. She doesn't conduct herself appropriately (I feel) in front of a classroom and the absolute *last* thing she should be teaching is Public Speaking. She started out mellow enough but by the end of class I knew things about her that I couldn't give a shit about if I had one to give. She's one of those people who is compelled to tell you all sorts of things about themselves, as though they are proud of even the most mundane facts. Also, when she's relating a story about any kind of conflict, she has this toned down Shanequa delivery that reminds me of the Jerry Springer show. It's not all side snaps and head movements, but the speech patterns and inflections are there. "Yeah, I said that, that's right. Don't call me up asking me what I said unless you want to hear the truth!" type of thing. I don't know that I can describe it and get you to know what I'm talking about. It's sort of something you just have to observe in people.
Anyhow, it's only been one class. My opinion could change.
This morning I took Bailey to the vet to get spayed. :-( / :-). It was in a STRIP MALL. I hope they know what they're doing. They better take good care of her. I have to pick her up after work tonight.
